  1. When Should I Pray?

    When Should I Pray?
PRAYER YES, BUT WHEN, AND HOW OFTEN?      Many things can shape our mood for the day. I love the old phrase “waking up on the wrong side of the bed”. What does that mean? Is there a wrong side to get up on? If there is I need to block that side off so I cannot possibly make the mistake of rolling that direction. For me I find I operate best with at least some sort of resemblance to a routing. That does not mean following the same steps day by day without any variance. It simply means, for me,
  2. The Moments That Shape A Lifetime.

The Moments That Shape A Lifetime.
The Moments that shape a lifetime.    My life has been filled with many different moments. Some created memories that have lasted a lifetime. Others have been fleeting or at least long since forgotten. But as I reminisce I realize that every moment I’ve experienced has in some way shaped the life I have lived to this point. It is easy to recount the major, or impactful moments. It is not always so easy to relive the considerably smaller, seemingly less important moments. I was raised with a

The Art Of Valuing People (Inspired by Stephanie the waitress at Frischs)
THE ART OF VALUING PEOPLE    I have come to an eye-opening realization. Relationships are one of the most precise commodities we can ever take part in. This is not a new concept to me or most likely anyone else. But relationships can be often trying and even down right difficult. Today I had the opportunity to have lunch with my Lady at a Frisch’s on Poplar Level Road. Our waitress was a

    This Little Light Of Mine!!
In the bible it said that it is important to be a beacon of light. We find in Matthew 5:16 that we are called to let our light shine for the glory of the Father. There are many ways to accomplish this request from God's word. It is important not to be at all ashamed to call yourself a Christian. It is at the same time equally important to know how to carry that banner. We are called to show Jesus to the world, to introduce Him if you will. Establishing a relationship with Him is the first
  5. Half full, half empty!

    Half full, half empty!
Half full, half empty! Practicing gratitude is a ritual few have mastered. How often do you reflect on the blessings in your life? Are you able to identify all the blessings in your life? Having a mortgage and bills to pay is not a fun activity. And it can often seem a struggle to make the ends meet to enable you to pay those bills. But how about someone who has no home, or has lost their home? I bet from their prospective your glass is not half empty. The angle of which you view your
  6. A Thankful Season!

    A Thankful Season!
A THANKFUL SEASON    We have entered the season or giving thanks. Yes, it was necessary to set aside an actual holiday for this event. I understand the holiday represents a very special occasion in our history, but my point is, we have a valuable reason to be thankful each and every day.     The Thanksgiving holiday can represent many things to many people. Hopefully it’s a time of joy for most but it can also be full of stress. This is of course not the goal for assigning a holiday to the 4th
  7. The Proper Prospective!

    The Proper Prospective!
Finding the proper Prospective!      No matter the occasion. No matter the circumstances. No matter your attitude, or your opinion, everything in the end needs to be put into its proper prospective. That is if you expect to get a clear view of the situation at hand. Let’s take for instance two discouraged disciples who had walked with Christ. They had known him. They had witnessed him delivering miracles. But yet on their journey back home to Judea they were thinking maybe it had all been a
  8. The Rolling Stone!

    The Rolling Stone!
I’m sure we are all aware that if you stand at the top of a hill, and roll a stone down it, as long as it has a clear path and is not encumbered, or interfered with, it will continue to pick up speed.  Well, we can imply this same theory to our ability to witness to others about Christ. Sometimes all someone needs is a smile, a kind word, or a positive gesture from us to brighten their day. Even if you only give them a 5 second positive influence isn’t that better than a day of total darkness?
  9. Unconditional Love

    Unconditional Love
In today’s society I feel there are many misconceptions about what being called a Christian is all about. Many would accuse a church going bible believing person to be short minded or even shortsighted. And this can actually be true at times. Even with best intentions sometimes the message we are trying to convey can be terribly misconstrued. We either come on way to strong, we do not come on strong enough, or we do not diligently seek the right moment to make our approach. You should not offer
  10. The Moral Decline!

    The Moral Decline!
THE MORAL DECLINE! The thoughts and views of many today do flutter like a kite in the wind. The moral codes from the past are outdated, or so, they like to pretend. For in their mind they’ve convinced themselves that society has evolved. They do not see what has taken place is morality has truly dissolved. They’ve taught themselves to believe a revolution has begun. And someone who doesn’t share their view speaks with a hating tongue. When you speak out with a view that is opposed to the view
  11. The Carpenter

    The Carpenter
THE CARPENTER The Master summoned a carpenter, to fix the damage that was done. He knew he’d called the very best, that’s why he’d called His only Son. He called upon the only one that would know just what to do. For the damage that was caused, we could not fix, not myself, nor even you. He needed someone that could build a bridge we all could walk across. For losing everyone he had created, was a far too great and painful loss. The plan of restoration started the day the Son was born. But
  12. 100% ????????

    100% ????????
Have you ever heard someone say, I'm giving it my all? Yes? So, then, what does that mean? Does it mean they are truly giving it everything they have? Now let me ask. Have you ever heard the phrase "I'm giving it 110%"? I've heard that also. And let me say this. They are wrong, 100% of the time. One hundred percent IS everything. There is no greater percentage than 100 percent. So, if someone says, I'm going above and beyond, I'm giving it 110%, or any percentage above 100 then that simply means
  13. Is this the Last Chance?
    30 Jun, 2015
    Is this the Last Chance?
The Last Chance How many times must I try to get it right? Why does it seem that I’m always in a fight? What will it take to turn it all around? How can I keep my feet planted firmly on safe ground? I need a restart is often how I feel Can the reality all around be completely real? The world spins so fast it seems I’ll never catch up And the things I once believed, now seem so corrupt The innocence of youth has long left my view And now that I’m an adult, it seems I still don’t have a clue Is

    Gentle voice but Firm hand!
Well, Facebook, the media, and society in general have certainly been buzzing about the recent Supreme Court ruling. I've watched the comments, watched the dialog back and forth from both views, and witnessed the anger being tossed around like the high waves on a stormy ocean. I've only spoken in small context with confirmation that I, as a Christian, do stand by my conviction and belief in the word of God. I have also challenged anyone with an opposing view to explain to me how standing on my
  15. Was it even worth a penny?

Was it even worth a penny?
About a week and a half ago I met a good friend of mine for lunch. I was a few minutes early so I went on in to get a table. As I stood waiting to be seated I noticed several of the employees were moping up a large portion of the floor in the middle of the dinning area. It took them several minutes to notice and seat me even though there were plenty of tables ready and several other waitresses who were not helping in this clean up. One of the ladies who was aiding in the clean up seemed very
  16. Hey there, it's me.
    26 Jun, 2015
    Hey there, it's me.
Pleased to meet you. Hope you come back often. I've spent some time contemplating rather or not to start a blog. I guess my final decision is now clear. I came to this conclusion through lots of prayer, always good to see what the Lord has to say about it, and tons of research on just what a blog is, how to manage it, and how to get it started. I love to write and I enjoy sharing any thoughts, or notions, that are on my mind and in my heart. So I'm now off and running with this new project. Hope
